Woman killed as wall collapses

Fatal: Roof of a tiled house with mud walls that collapsed on Tuesday morning claiming the life of an aged woman at Kamarajapuram, near Brooke Bond Road, in Coimbatore. –

Coimbatore: A 60-year-old Saradambal was killed when the tiled roof of her house made of mud wall on sixth street at Kamarajapuram, near Brooke Bond Road, collapsed on Tuesday morning. Her son Srinivasan (30) who sustained injuries is undergoing treatment at the Coimbatore Medical College hospital. It is learnt that the roof came down this morning because of the dampness caused by rain. Though the police, fire and rescue services rescued both of them, Saradambal was declared dead at the hospital.
