LONDON: An injury time goal from Arsenal striker Emmanuel Adebayor sealed a 2-0 win over West Ham on Sunday. Adebayor came on as a late substitute at Upton Park and immediately made an impact. In the 75th minute, the Togo international fired a shot that appeared to be going wide until West Ham right-back Julien Faubert poked the ball past his own goalkeeper for an own goal. Adebayor nearly made it 2-0 in the 80th but West Ham goalkeeper Robert Green parried the shot and the striker put the rebound over the bar. But Adebayor got his goal in injury time, collecting a superb pass from Nicklas Bendtner, rounding Green who had come off his line, and then placing a right-footed shot into the goal from about 18 yards. The victory leaves Arsenal in fourth place with 19 points, a point behind Hull, which continued its dream start to its first season in the Premier League, beating West Brom 3-0 on Saturday. The results: Manchester City 3 (Robinho 14, 47, 72) bt Stoke 0; Portsmouth 1 (Crouch 61) drew with Fulham 1 (Dempsey 87); Tottenham 2 (Pavlyuchenko 17, Bent 76-pen) bt Bolton 0; Wigan 0 lost to Aston Villa 4 (Barry 22-pen, Agbonlahor 57, Carew 62, Sidwell 90); West Ham 0 lost to Arsenal 2 (Faubert 75-own goal, Adebayor 90). — Agencies
