Himachal anganwadi workers to get enhanced wages

SHIMLA: The Anganwadi workers and helpers in Himachal Pradesh will now get enhanced wages of Rs.1,800 and Rs.950 per month respectively and also an additional benefit of Rs.6,000 and Rs.3,000 per year, announced an official spokesman here on Tuesday.

Nearly 36,500 Anganwadi workers and 18,248 helpers across the State would get this benefit. Following persistent efforts by the Government, the Centre had enhanced the rates of honorarium for the Anganwadi workers and helpers under the ICDS Programme by Rs.500 and Rs.250 per month respectively with effect from April 1, 2008, the spokesman said.
