Getting ready for the recruitment rally

Aspirants from Karnataka, Kerala, Lakshadweep and Mahe are eligible



Action station: The M. Visvesvaraya Stadium in Kolar where the Army recruitment rally is scheduled to be held in November.

KOLAR: The M. Visvesvaraya District Stadium in Kolar is being spruced up for the Indian Army’s recruitment rally from November 5 to 15. This will be a mega event considering the vast area involved in the recruitment process. A large number of candidates from Karnataka, Kerala and the Union Territories of Lakshadweep and Mahe are expected to participate in the rally.

Candidates from Kolar, Bangalore and Bangalore Rural districts can attend the tests for selection of general duty posts on November 5, while aspirants from Tumkur, Mandya and Mysore can participate the next day.

November 7 is the date fixed for candidates from Chickballapur, Chamarajnagar and Ramnagaram districts attending selection in the same discipline.

Candidates from Kolar, Bangalore, Bangalore Rural and Mandya (November 8), Ramnagaram, Chamarajnagar, Mysore and Chickballapur and Tumkur districts can attend the selection process for sainik clerk/store keeper, technical, nursing assistant, general duty and sainik tradesmen posts on November 9. Servicemen, ex-servicemen, male children of war widows, NCC ‘C’ certificate holders, State and national-level sportspersons of these nine districts are also eligible to attend the tests for the same posts. November 11 and 12 have been earmarked for the selection of educational havaldar posts for candidates from all districts of Karnataka and Kerala and the Union Territories of Lakshadweep and Mahe.

The aspiring candidates have been asked to bring with them relevant documents, including originals, photo copies of SSLC / second PU (in the case of graduates, degree certificates), caste certificates and domicile certificates issued by Tahsildar / Deputy Commissioners.

Mandatory

A no objection certificate from parents is mandatory for candidates aged below 18. The NOC should be in English on a stamp paper. Those seeking recruitment under NCC and sports quota should bring the relevant certificates.

Medical fitness tests will be conducted from November 13 to 15. Candidates taking part in the rally need to be present at 5 a.m. at the spot on the respective days.

The district administration will extend all cooperation for the smooth conduct of the rally, Deputy Commissioner H.R. Srinivas told The Hindu. Meetings with the authorities concerned were held to discuss the arrangements, he said. All basic facilities, including accommodation and water, will be made available, Mr. Srinivas added.

Superintendent of Police K.P. Puttaswamy said the police department will provide bandobast for the rally.
