Govt. claims more power for Gurgaon

Works worth Rs.370 crore completed

CHANDIGARH: Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (DHBVN) and Haryana Vidyut Prasaran Nigam (HVPN) have completed works worth Rs.370 crore since March 2005 for augmenting the power infrastructure in Gurgaon district. Also, works worth hundreds of crores of rupees are in progress, according to an official spokesman here.
He disclosed that HVPN had commissioned six new power sub-stations and augmented the capacity of the 12 existing sub-stations increasing the capacity of the transmission system by 540 MVA in the district during this period. He said DHBVN had set up over 3,300 additional power distribution transformers and augmented the capacity of 200 existing transformers by replacing the old transformers with new ones of higher capacity thereby increasing the capacity of the distribution system.
During this period, DHBVN released over 75 000 new connections in the district increasing the connected load by over 650 MW. The new connections included 3,500 industrial and 1,300 tube-well connections.
“During the current financial year, DHBVN plans to spend Rs.190 crore to strengthen the distribution system.”
