More coaches for women in Yelagiri Express

CHENNAI: Southern Railway has announced two additional general coaches exclusively for women in the Yelagiri Express with immediate effect.
An official release said while one coach would be added at the front, the second one would be added in the rear side of the Yelagiri express besides the existing coaches allotted for ladies by these trains.
Special trains
Southern Railway will operate special trains to clear the extra rush of passengers in the Chennai Egmore – Nagercoil sector. The special (0617) will leave Chennai at 11.45 p.m. on Thursday and will reach Nagercoil the next day at 2.30 p.m. In the return direction the train (0618) will leave Nagercoil on Friday at 8.10 p.m. and will reach Chennai Egmore at 10.15 a.m. the next day.
Commissioner of Railway Safety, Southern Circle, Bangalore, will conduct high speed trials on the newly converted broad gauge section between Katpadi and Vellore Cantonment on Thursday.
