TIRUNELVELI: The Kalakkad police have arrested a woman and her son for allegedly murdering her daughter-in-law. The police said S. Lakshmi (29) of Melakaaduvetti near Kalakkad was found dead in a charred condition in the residence of her husband, Sudalaikannu, on October 25. During investigation the police reportedly found that Sudalaikannu and his mother Pitchammal (52) had attacked Lakshmi in a domestic quarrel and burnt her alive. Following this, the police arrested Sudalaikannu and Pitchammal on Tuesday. An enquiry by the Revenue Divisional Officer has also been initiated.
