Live workshop at MNJ Cancer Hospital

HYDERABAD: A live workshop, showcasing techniques to take up complicated cancer surgeries related to stomach, oesophagus, thyroid, breast and rectum, was organised at MNJ Cancer Hospital on Sunday by Association of Surgeons of India (ASI), AP Chapter.

The workshop highlighted recent advances and latest operative techniques in the treatment of the above said varieties of cancer. Nearly 150 surgeons participated in the workshop.

The surgeries, conducted by top surgeons of the hospital, were beamed live at the workshop. “As members of ASI we do have access to international literature and workshops but not so in case of district-level surgeons and PG students. Hence, this workshop was organised to help upcoming surgeons learn the tricks of the trade,” informed Chief Surgical Oncologist of MNJ hospital T. Subramanyeshwar Rao.

The workshop was inaugurated by MNJ Hospital Director T. Mandapal. Several members from ASI were also present in the inaugural function of the workshop.
