T. Rajasekaran, Fire Station Officer: It has been 25 years since I celebrated Deepavali properly with my family but they understand the importance of our department and its work. After my wedding I told my wife that she cannot expect me to come home in the evenings like others. During Deepavali we have to remain alert and be on our toes as there may be fire calls. But now with most people following the Supreme Court direction of not bursting crackers after 10 p.m. fires at night hase come down.”
