Woman sustains burn injuries

NEW DELHI: A 21-year-old woman sustained burn injuries after her male colleague allegedly threw acid at her in Kalyanpuri in the trans-Yamuna area on Saturday. The accused is absconding.

When the woman had gone to shop in the local market around 8-45 p.m. the accused came on a motorcycle and threw acid on her face. She was rushed to Lal Bahadur Shastri Hospital with over 20 per cent burns on the face and hand. She identified the assailant as a young man working in her office in Noida. She told the police that the accused was angry with her as she had turned down his proposal.

The police have registered a case and launched a hunt for the culprit.
