Cash relief sanctioned

PERAMBALUR: The State government has sanctioned a cash relief of Rs. One lakh to the next of kin of Ramaswamy, who was killed by lightning at Neduvasal village recently.
The District Collector Anil Meshram gave away the cheque to Chellammal, widow of Ramaswamy, on Saturday.
Applications invited
Applications have been invited by the Tamil Nadu Scheduled Tribe Welfare Board from persons belonging to the Scheduled Tribe community for enrolment as members.
In a press release issued here on Sunday, Mr. Anil Meshram said that those in the age-group 18-65 years are eligible to be enrolled as members.
Applications can be obtained from the office of the District Adi-Dravidar Welfare Officer.
The filled in applications should be submitted to the Village Administrative Officer or the Special Tahsildar (Adi Dravidar Welfare) or the District Adi Dravidar Welfare Officer, either in person or by post immediately.
Appeal to people
Mr. Anil Meshram has appealed to the members of the public to avoid the use of crackers causing pollution of higher order. In a press release issued here on Sunday, the Collector has appealed to the parents to exercise caution by being beside their children bursting crackers.
The release also sought the people to avoid bursting crackers in the vicinity of thatched structures.
