Award for primary school teachers

Tiruvannamalai: As many as 36 primary school teachers, who made a “positive impact” on Tamil reading ability of students adopting methodologies introduced by the Eureka Tamil Reading Campaign, were felicitated with ‘Eureka Education Award’ in Tiruvannamalai district.

Chief Educational Officer (SSA) V. Balamurugan distributed the awards to the teachers selected by the Eureka movement at a function held here on Saturday.

District project co-ordinator M. Murugesh presided over the function. Assistant district programme co-ordinator (SSA) V. Mathiyazhagan, Eureka magazine in-charge M. Gayathri, State resource person M. Abdul Majith, zonal co-ordinators A. Sivakumar and C. Pachamuthu were among participants.

A volunteer from every one of the villages in all 18 blocks of the district, engaged by Eureka for assisting students in his village to achieve Tamil reading ability, also received awards.
