Minister gives away solatium

Tiruvannamalai: Food Minister E.V. Velu on Sunday handed over a solatium of Rs. 1 lakh each to the dependents of four persons, who were recently killed or died in natural calamity in Tiruvannamalai district. The money was sanctioned from the Chief Minister’s relief fund.
Those who received the solatium include Dhanapal and Ettiyan, fathers of two girls, who were raped and killed in their village,
Aradappattu, a month ago; Alathur Rajaraman, father of Mahalingam, a Standard X student, who died of poisonous bite recently; Kamakshi, wife Murugan, who was killed in lightning.
