A musical thanks to donors

CHENNAI: Research Group for Education and Advocacy for Community Health (REACH), a non-profit organisation working for tuberculosis control in Chennai, organised ‘Light of Hope,’ a concert by Carnatic vocalist T.M.Krishna here on Friday.

The concert, at Hotel Raintree, was to raise donations for the Tuberculosis Patients Fund and to thank the donors.

Cognizant CEO Lakshmi Narayanan inaugurated the concert.

A press release said T.M.Krishna rendered beautiful compositions on the theme of hope and happiness. He was accompanied by Manoj Shiva (Mirdangam), R.K. Shriramkumar (Violin) and B. Shree Sundar Kumar (Kanjira). REACH has set up Directly Observed Treatment Short Course (DOTS) centres in many private hospitals.

Support

Cognizant supported the setting up of four DOTS centres in and around Chennai.

The release said E.K.Parthasarathy of Thandalam Yogashema Trust funded the setting up of a centre in the city. Ranganath, MD, Grundforce has contributed towards creating awareness on tuberculosis.
