Two injured in gang attack

Thiruvananthapuram: Two men from Kaavinpuram Housing Colony, near Vilapilssala, were injured in an attack by a gang here on Saturday. Udayakumar, 30, and ‘Kozikkalan’ Biju, 38, were rushed to the medical college hospital after they were attacked by a seven-member gang armed with swords at around 5.30 p.m.

According to the Vilapilssala police, Udayakumar was attacked by the gang for verbally assaulting a woman who is a relative of one of the gang members. Biju, a relative of Udayakumar, was injured when he tried to intervene.

The Vilappilsala police, who are investigating the incident, said Biju and Udayakumar are known local goons.
