Hussain, Omer hog the limelight

HYDERABAD: Century by Mohd. Sada M. Hussain (107) for Don Bosco HS and good bowling by M. Omer Khan (seven for 7) for St. Paul’s HS were the highlights of the Boost Cup (under-16) cricket tournament here on Friday.

The scores: Boost Cup (under-16): Don Bosco HS 254 (Mohd. Sada M. Hussain 107, Neeraj three for 20) bt Model Mission HS 51 (Suresh five for 20, Syed Hyder Ali three for 12). St. Anthony’s HS 251 for four (Abhirath 62, Rao 38, Vishnu Rinda 70) bt Model Mission HS 162 (Murali 34). St. Paul’s 110 (Ananth three for 19, Kamal five for 26) bt Oakridge International 68 (M. Omer Khan seven for 7). St. Peter’s Model School 158 (Romario 31, Omer Bawazir three for 29, Amer Sohail four for 32) lost to Sri Chaitanya, Yousufguda, 162 for one (Sajid Ali 44, Chandrahas Naidu 60 n.o., Omer Bawazir 32 n.o.).

St. Patrick’s 257 for eight (Chandu 43, Bhanu 83, Ajay 36, Noor 33, Haseeb Khan three for 58) bt Taxila HS 94 (Roshan three for 25, Karthik three for 16). Hanuman Vyayamshala PS 87 (Santhosh three for 14, Vikas three for 10) lost to Loyola Academy Jr. College 88 for one. Cal Public School ‘B’ 235 for three (Shashidar Reddy 78, D.G.J. Chaitanya 71) bt Indus World School 127 for seven.

St. Peter’s HS 68 (Raja Venkatesh four for 10, Akash Bhandari four for 12) lost to Bhavan’s Jr. College 69 for one.

A-Division (two-day): Jai Bhagwathi 169 (Rohan Yadav 51, Rajender 52 ,Vasanth Reddy 50 n.o., Sandeep Goud seven for 59) lost to King’s XI 171 for eight (Ashrith 73 n.o.). Saleemnagar 254 (Md. Zameeruddin 79, Layeeq 70) bt SBI 216 (Pankaj 83, M.A. Layeeq four for 32, Nazeer four for 38).

Khaiser stars for SBH

Khaiser Ali struck five times, including a hat-trick, to fashion State Bank of Hyderabad’s entry into the semifinals of the Susai Sr memorial football tournament, organised by Shastri Soccer Club, at Trimulgherry Village Grounds.

Khaiser scored in the fifth, 14th, 16th, 23rd and 28th minutes of the first-half to help SBH drub Tarnaka Football Club 6-0. In the second session, stopper-back Prakash headed a corner kick into the goal in the 60th minute to complete the tally.

JHPS has it easy

Jubilee Hills Public School recorded a six-wicket win over Kennedy School in the Glendale Trophy (under-14) inter-school cricket tournament here.

The scores: Kennedy School 121 for nine (Jeevan Rathod 53, Anirudh five for 19) lost to Jubilee Hills Public School 122 for four (Praneet 43).

Sreenidhi International 110 for three lost to Gautham Model School 114 for five (Arun Deva 39 n.o.).
