This Day That Age
The Government of India have suggested to the Tenth General Conference of UNESCO in Paris on November 4 that a major project should be launched by the UNESCO on free and compulsory education for Asia and that a regional Centre in Asia should be established for the implementation of the major project on mutual appreciation of Eastern and Western cultural values. The proposals will come up for discussion at the conference which will review the activities of the organisation and finalise its programme and budget for 1959-60. The Vice-President of India, Dr. S. Radhakrishnan, will lead the Indian delegation to the session. He will be the President of the General Conference till the President of the Tenth Session is elected.
