Lanka squad

COLOMBO: Sri Lanka omitted senior players Sanath Jayasuriya, Chaminda Vaas and Tillakaratne Dilshan from a youthful 15-player squad Thursday to tour Zimbabwe for a five-match ODI cricket series next month.

Selectors recalled batsmen Upul Tharanga and Thilina Kandamby.

The squad: Mahela Jayewardene (Capt.), Kumar Sangakkara, Mahela Udawatte, Chamara Kapugedera, Jehan Mubarak, Thilina Kandamby, Upul Tharanga, Farveez Maharoof, Thilan Thushara, Nuwan Kulasekara, Ajantha Mendis, Dilhara Fernando, Muttiah Muralitharan, Angelo Mathews and Dhammika Prasad. — AP
