SBI registers win

HYDERABAD: State Bank of India scored a 2-0 win over City College Old Boys in the Susai Sr. Memorial football tournament, organised by Shastri Soccer Club, at the Trimulgherry Village Grounds here on Thursday.

Winger Shafi latched on to a neat pass from former international Anand to find the target in the 30th minute of first-half. In the second session, Prasanjit scored off a long-ranger in the 35th minute to complete the tally.

Gymkhana FC posts win

Gymkhana Football Club recorded a solitary goal win over Bolarum Sporting in the Greater Hyderabad football tournament for boys (under-18 years) organised by the AP Veterans Football Association.

In another match, Bhavan’s Junior College scored a 3-0 win over Shastri Football Club.

Junior National chess

Andhra Pradesh Chess Association will organise the 38th Junior National junior girls’ chess championship at Sasi Engineering College (Tadepalligudem) from November 3 to 11.

Inter-collegiate boxing

Hyderabad District School Games Federation will organise an inter-collegiate boxing championship (under-17 years) at the LB Stadium boxing hall on October 24 from 9 a.m. Interested may report at the venue.

Meanwhile, it is informed that the inter-collegiate cricket tournament for boys (under-19) scheduled to start from October 25 has been postponed.
