Anvesh and Durga win the 100m sprints

GANNAVARAM: B. Anvesh and Durga Bhavani of NSM Public School, Vijayawada, emerged fastest athletes of the National Montfort sports and Games meet, clocking 12.28 and 14.41 seconds respectively in the 100m sprints of the senior segments at St. John’s Higher Secondary School here on Thursday.

The results: Athletics (winners only): Boys: Seniors: 100m: B. Anvesh (NSMPS, Vij). Juniors: Shot put: Deepak (MHS Nagpur).

Girls: Seniors: 100m: Durga Bhavani (NMSPS). Javelin: M. Kundan Reddy (St Gabriel’s, Kazipet). Shot-put: M. Farisa (LFHS, Hyd). Juniors: 200m: Divyasri (St. John’s, Gannavaram). Long Jump: Aarti (MHS Garatola).

Volleyball: Boys: Seniors: St. John’s HS (Gannavaram) bt VVHS (Mattampally) 25-12, 25-16; MHS (Nagpur) bt MHS (Garatola) 25-10, 25-14. Juniors: St. John’s HS (Gannavaram) bt MHS (Rapelle) 25-13, 25-8, MHS (Gopalapuram) bt MHS (Nagpur) 25-18, 25-21.
