NEW DELHI: Bharat scored three goals and Tanmesh chipped in with two as host Modern School, Barakhamba Road, powered to a 5-1 victory over Guru Harkrishan Public School, India Gate, in the under-18 boys semifinals of the Modernites inter-school hockey tournament at the Modern School ground, Barakhamba Road, here on Thursday. In the other semifinal, Bal Bharati School, Noida, defeated Hillwood Academy, Preet Vihar, 3-2 in the tie-break after the teams had locked 2-2 at the end of the regulation period. In the under-15 section, Modern School made the final with a 3-2 victory over N K. Bargodia Public School, Dwarka. Bharat Singh (2) and Rohit Aggarwal scored for the winner. Sarthak and Anmol found the target for the loser. Bal Bharati School, Pitampura, defeated Amity International School, Noida, 2-0, to take the other berth in the final, thanks to the goals by Rohit Sharma and Arjit Kapoor. Delhi State JudoThe 29th Delhi State judo championship will be held at the Netaji Subhash Modern Sports Club, Defence Colony, here from November 2 to 4. The weighing for the event will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on October 31.
