Oriental Bank H1 net up 46 p.c.

NEW DELHI: The net profit of Oriental Bank of Commerce has risen by 45.6 per cent to Rs. 457 crore in the half-year ended September 30, 2008, from Rs. 314 crore in the year-ago period. Total business grew by 28 per cent to Rs. 148,489 crore from Rs. 116,043 crore as on September 30, 2007. Deposits at Rs. 87,368 crore as on September 30, 2008, rose from Rs. 69,178 crore, showing a rise of 26.3 per cent. Advances were up 30.4 per cent at Rs. 61,121 crore against Rs. 46,865 crore, says a release.
