Sashank scores a brace

HYDERABAD: Striker Sashank netted a brace to fashion Shastri Soccer Club’s 2-0 win over AGORC in the Susai Sr. memorial football tournament, here on Wednesday.

Sashank scored in the 15th minute of the first-half and the 40th minute of hte second.

Jayant moves up

Jayant Jayaraman defeated Akhil Verma 4-2, 4-0 in the quarterfinals of the boys’ under-12 section of the Sun-Jay Tennis Academy AITA Talent Series tennis tournament here.

Double for Rashmitha

P. Rashmitha Reddy bagged a double by winning the girls’ u-12 and u-14 singles titles in the 10th YMCA Kargil Victory tennis tournament here.

The results (finals): Boys: U-10: B. Vaishnav bt T. Sahith 7-4; U-12: S.A. Wahab bt Srirang Sathyan 6-4; U-14: S.A. Wahab bt P. Sumesh 7-5.

STC judokas do well

Judokas from Sports Training Centre (SAI, Saroornagar) won a gold and four bronze medals in the recently-held All India STC judo championship in Goa.

V. Rakesh won gold in the 66 kg category while T. Ramesh (56kg), G. Nagesh (50kg), N. Nagaraju (73kg) and B. Karthik (45kg) picked a bronze each.
Volleyball tournament

The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation will organise a volleyball tournament for boys at Uppal Stadium from November 3 to 6. Those interested may contact GHMC sports wing for further details.
