BANGALORE: Tamil Nadu women led by international Geethu Anna Jose brushed aside the challenge of Sri Lanka 47-32 to win the title in the 50th South Zone basketball championship at the Vijayanagara Basketball Club court at Hospet on Wednesday. In the morning, Karnataka teams had mixed fortunes in the semifinals. While Sri Lanka prevailed over the Karnataka women 67-56, the host men overpowered Kerala 65-51. Karnataka will meet Tamil Nadu in the final. The scores: Women (final): Tamil Nadu 47 (Geethu Anna Jose 17, Sunitha Suren 11) bt Sri Lanka 32. Semifinals: Sri Lanka 67 (Pramila 19, Kumarini 13) bt Karnataka 56 (Smitha 15, Deepa 14, Savitha 11).
