Rain god may not be unkind to Chandrayaan

New Delhi: The rain god may not come in the way of India’s historic maiden unmanned moon mission Chandrayaan-I on Wednesday early morning.

There was no cyclonic activity over Sriharikota, from where the spacecraft was to lift off at 6.20 a.m., the Meteorological Department officials here and in Chennai said on Tuesday.

However, they have forecast rains along the coastline in Andhra Pradesh and parts of Tamil Nadu. The rains along the coast will not hamper the launch as the spacecraft is fully rain-proof, ISRO officials said. — PTI
