Anand No. 1 in live world rankings

BONN: Viswanathan Anand has moved to the top place of the live world rankings. Fifth in the ranking published on October 1, Anand has so far collected nine rating points from the five games in the world chess championship here and has taken his aggregate to 2792, one better than Veselin Topalov who became the new World No. 1 this month.

Kramnik, who has lost nine points, remains in the sixth spot with an effective rating of 2763. — Special Correspondent
