BANGALORE: Kerala set Karnataka a modest target of 172 for victory in the Col. C.K. Nayudu (South Zone) under-22 cricket tournament at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium here on Tuesday. On the third and penultimate day, after conceding a 63-run lead, Kerala did well to post a total of 234 in its second innings, thanks to an unbeaten 123 (163b, 11 x4 and 7 x6) by Pravin Achuthan. Karnataka was 14 for no loss at close. A.G. Pradeep (53) K. Bharath Reddy (53 batting) kept Andhra afloat against Tamil Nadu. Andhra in its second innings made 157 for five wickets after conceding a 107- run lead. Hyderabad took a 13-run first innings lead over Goa. The scores: Andhra 109 in 39 overs and 157 for five in 43 overs (A.G. Pradeep 53, K. Bharath Reddy 53 batting.) vs. Tamil Nadu 216 in 85.2 overs (A. Veera Babu five for 46) Kerala 165 in 61 overs and 234 in 77 .2 overs (Pravin V. Achuthan 123 n.o.) vs. Karnataka 228 in 92.1 overs (Sunil N. Raju 56) and 14 no loss in four overs. Hyderabad 195 in 86.1 overs vs. Goa 182 in 85.2 overs (Lalith Mohan four 37).
