Table Tennis
NEW DELHI: The Union Sports Ministry has approved a batch of 32 table tennis players for preparation of the Indian teams for the 2010 Commonwealth Games. The ministry has also approved the names of one foreign and four Indian coaches in consultation with the Table Tennis Federation of India (TTFI). The TTFI has been asked to provide the names of eight more players and two more Indian coaches. The TTFI has informed the Steering Committee constituted by the ministry that the NIS, Patiala, Balewadi Sports Complex, Pune, National Academy for juniors, Ajmer, and the Petroleum Sports Promotion Board Academy, Ajmer, had been identified as training centres. The probables: Men: A. Sharath Kamal, Subhajit Saha, Soumyadeep Roy, A. Amal Raj, Sourav Chakraborty, Sayan Paul Roy, Zubin Kumar, Parthik Mehta, Anirban Nandi, Sanil Shetty, R. Abhiahek, Devesh Karia, Aniket Koparkar, G. Jatnendra, Omkar Togalkar, Somyajeet Ghosh, S. Satyan, Raj Mondal and Shubham Sharma. Women: Neha Agarwal, Mouma Das, Poulomi Ghatak, K. Shamini, Divya Deshpande, Sushmita Roy, Kasturi Chakraborty, Mansi Bhagwat, Madhurika Patkar, Pooja Buddhe, Soumi Mondal, Ankita Das and Ashlesha Bodas.
