The Delhi police had announced that he had been murdered while travelling in a taxi car from the Delhi airport on October 10. Robbery was suspected to be the motive of the murder. His brother, Shaheer, also based in Saudi Arabia, had confirmed the identity of his brother after verifying his photograph. The body of the victim had been buried in Delhi.
