Maximise claims feature event

Hyderabad: Deshmukh trained Maximise (Suraj Narredu up) won the Deccan Chronicle Gold Cup, the feature event of the races held here on Monday (Oct.20). The winner is owned by Dr. & Mrs. Syed Ainuddin Arif, M/s. Y. Damodar & Rafaat Hussain.

Leading individual owner: Mr. M.A.M. Ramaswamy emerged the leading individual owner, winning stake money to the tune of Rs. 47,57,250 in the Hyderabad Race Club’s monsoon season, that concluded here on Monday. Thanks to earnings of Rs. 38,81,200, he was also the front-runner among owners based in Hyderabad. His name figured also among leading joint owners, along with Mr. & Mrs. P.J. Vazifdar, their combined earnings amounting to Rs. 42,02,800.

Leading joint owners: The leading joint owners based in Hyderabad were D. Pratap Chander Reddy and Sushil Kumar Gupta, winning Rs. 34,08,180.

Leading trainer: L. D’Silva saddled 31 winners to become leading trainer.

Champion jockey: Harish riding 32 winners was champion jockey while A. Ramana, winner of eight races, was adjudged champion apprentice jockey.

Leading tipsters: The New Indian Express with 85 winners clinched the leading tipsters prize. M/s. Afsar & Co. with field money of Rs. 74,24,950 were the leading bookmakers, Champion horse: Arabian Knight. Horse of the season: Power Play.
