BPCL, SNM retain titles
KOCHI: BPCL Kochi Refinery, the former National League champion, defeated Indian Navy in a five-set thriller and retained the Pappan Memorial Ernakulam district volleyball title at Chettikkad, near Moothakunnam, on Sunday night.
BPCL, which won 25-22, 18-25, 20-25, 25-23, 15-11, finished with an all-win record in the four-team super league. Cochin Port Trust finished runner-up while Indian Navy finished third.
SNM College, Maliankara, had retained the women’s title earlier after beating St Xavier’s College, Aluva, 25-10, 25-20, 25-15. — Principal Correspondent
