All-party meeting on Thevar jayanthi

Special Correspondent

MADURAI: All political parties participating in the Thevar jayanthi celebration on October 30 would be provided separate timings to garland the statue of Pasumpon Muthuramalinga Thevar at Goripalayam.

The volunteers should stick to the schedule earmarked for them and ensure that there was no communication gap during the procession.

These were the instructions given by Collector S. S. Jawahar at an all-party meeting here on Monday. He appealed to the party functionaries to extend support in maintaining law and order.

The cadres should not indulge in violence or make provocative speeches during the processions.

Madurai Superintendent of Police M. Manohar, Sholavandan MLA P. Moorthy, Assistant Commissioners of Police from Madurai city and revenue officials participated in the meeting, a press release said.
