Water level

MADURAI: Periyar dam continued to receive good rainfall and was getting higher inflow of 3,474 cusecs. The level in the reservoir stood at 121.70 feet (full level 136 feet) with a discharge of 1,200 cusecs. The level in the Vaigai dam was 53.61 feet (71 feet) with an inflow of 1,957 cusecs and a discharge of 741 cusecs. The combined Periyar credit stood at 4,283 mcft.

Periyar dam recorded a rainfall of 46 mm followed by Kallandiri 38, Gudalur 35, Marudhanadi 30, Tekkadi 27, Shanmugandi 17, Sittampatti and Pulipatti 16 each, Idayapatti 15.2, Melur 11.5, Peranai 11, Uthamapalayam, Veerapandi, Manjalar dam, Madurai, and Andipatti 10 each, Sattaiyar dam 6.7, Thaniyamangalam 5, Sothuparai dam 4 and Mettupatti 3.
