Lankan women beat Kerala

BANGALORE: Sri Lankan women jolted last year’s runner-up Kerala 51-29 for its second victory in Group ‘B’ of the 50th South Zone basketball championship at Hospet on Monday.

In a high-scoring men’s encounter Tamil Nadu scored a crucial 92-80 win over Kerala for its second win.

The results: Men: Tamil Nadu 92 (Suresh 25, Vineet 17, Robinson 14) bt Kerala 80 (Manoj 30, Bobbit Mathew 16).

Women: Sri Lanka 51 (Kumarini Silva 18, Inoka 14) bt Kerala 29 (Seena Joseph 14). — Special Correspondent
