50 years of service to the visually impaired

Staff Reporter

Bangalore: Divine Light Trust has many firsts to its credit. The trust’s student, Parashivmurthy is the first person with visual impairment in the State to be appointed as lecturer; B.G. Satyanarayana Rao is the first visually impaired person in the State to practice law and Paul Muddha is the one of the first few visually impaired people to venture into nationalised banking with an MBA degree.

These former students of the trust and achievers were felicitated at the school’s golden jubilee function here on Sunday.

Held at the Ecumenical Christian Center (ECC) in Whitefield, this was an alumni celebration, which focussed mainly on felicitating outstanding former students.

The architect of the school C.D. Panduranga Vittal Rao, also the first teacher of the school, felicitated these students.
