St. Xavier’s PG College organises workshop on sub prime crisis

HYDERABAD: To make students understand the sub prime crisis in the world financial markets and managing the risks associated with it, St. Xavier’s PG College, Gopanpally organised a workshop on Saturday.

More than 300 students from various colleges participated in the workshop where they got an idea of derivatives and its complexities.

S. N. Sharma, Dean, faculty of Business Management, OU spoke on various aspects of risk and the use of derivatives tools in mitigating these risks. The session on ‘Trading derivatives in India’ cantered on the trading aspects of derivatives in India and a trader by profession, Kalyan gave an insight into the entire issue.

Mr. Dhrov from Wipro spoke on ‘Hedging with Derivatives’ covering different strategies of hedging using the derivative instruments.

It was followed by a question-answer session that cleared the doubts of students.
