VISAKHAPATNAM: Manoj Sai and Y. Gnaneswara Rao completed centuries for Andhra but Karnataka was on the verge of overtaking the host in the first innings in the quadrangular tournament, at the Railway stadium here on Sunday. Sri Lanka gained the first innings lead over Hyderabad at the ACA-VDCA stadium. Gnaneswar who was on 94 at close on the first day made 101 (16x4) and Manoj on 87, went on to score 102 not out. Both added 164 runs for the fourth wicket and Andhra made 316 for four. Karnataka was 283 for three at stumps and has seven more over to get the first innings lead on the final day. Deepak Chowgule (108 batting, 10x4) is leading the charge. He added 103 for the second wicket with C.B. Karthik (55, 4x4, 1x6) and 129 for the third wicket with Bharath Chipli (76, 8x4). The scores: Andhra 316 for four in 90 overs (Manoj Sai 102 n.o., Y. Gnaneswara Rao 101, H. Vatekar 61) vs. Karnataka 283 for three in 83 overs (Deepak Chowgule 108 batting, Bharath Chipli 76, C.B.
