VIJAYAWADA: V. R. Siddhartha Engineering College (VRSEC) won the Acharya Nagarjuna University inter-collegiate (East Zone) tournament defeating Koneru Lakshmaiah College of Engineering (KLCE) by two wickets in the final held here on Sunday. Both the teams qualified for the ANUIC inter-zonal tournament to be held at VSR & YNR College at Chirala. The scores: KLCE 91 in 32.2 overs (N. Jyothi Sai Krishna four for 25) lost to VRSEC 92 for eight in 32.4 overs. Vivek winsVivek Vardhan defeated Sk. Feroz 3-2 in the men’s final of the Krishna District table tennis selection tournament that concluded at the Satyam Memorial TT hall at IGMC Stadium here on Sunday. K. Spoorti outplayed M. Mrudhula 3-1 to win the women’s title. The results: (all finals): Men: Vivek Vardhan bt Sk Feroz 3-2. Women: K. Spoorthi bt M. Mrudhula 3-1; Cadet Boys: Sk. Sharukh Akram bt K. All the four players will represent the Krishna District in the coming State selection tournament. Nagesh takes trophyT.S.R. Nagesh won the Fleet Commander’s Trophy in the annual golf tournament conducted by the Easter Fleet. Shobhit Srivastava was runner-up. Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief of Eastern Naval Command Nirmal Verma gave away the trophies at a dinner function held on board INS Jalashwa on Satruday night.
