MPSCB triumphs

VISAKHAPATNAM: Major Ports Sports Control Board (MPSCB) emerged overall champion and won the Challengers Trophy in the inaugural South Asian Port Organisations Games (SAPOG) 2008 held in Colombo recently.

MPSCB won five gold medals — in badminton, hockey, table tennis, beach volleyball and carom and silver in football, cricket and volleyball. Sri Lanka and Pakistan finished second and third in the overall standings. Tennis, billiards and netball for women were the other events of the meet. —Special Correspondent
