Gnaneswara, Manoj shine

VISAKHAPATNAM: Andhra captain Y. Gnaneswara Rao and Manoj Sai came up with fine unbeaten knocks as Andhra made 286 for three in its first innings against Karnataka on the first day of the three-day match in the quadrangular tournament at the Railway Stadium here on Saturday.

Gnaneswara Rao was on 94 (16x4) and Manoj Sai on 87 (9x4) and the fourth wicket pair had so far added 154 runs. Earlier H. Vatekar scored his third successive half century (61, 9x4) and M. Krishna Murthy contributed 30 (4x4).
