MALAPPURAM: The district CBSE School Festival organised by the Sahodaya School Complex will begin at Delhi International School, Valanchery, on Monday. More than 2,000 students from 41 schools across the district will attend the four-day youth festival. The organisers said here on Saturday that students of classes III to XII would display their talents in four categories. Competitions will be held in 127 items. As many as eight stages have been erected for the fete. Manjalamkuzhi Ali, MLA, will inaugurate the festival on Monday afternoon. District panchayat president Arimbra Mohammed will inaugurate the valedictory function on Thursday evening. K.T. Jaleel, MLA, will be the chief guest on the occasion. The winners of the festival will be qualified to take part in the State CBSE Youth Festival to be held in Kollam from October 30. The State edition of the event will be organised by the Confederation of Kerala Sahodaya Complexes. Malappuram district had won the second place in the State CBSE Youth Festival held at Chalakkudy last year.
