Stress on investing early, regularly

Staff Reporter

Kochi: The Business Line Club organised a lecture on capital markets at St. Xavier’s College, Aluva, on Friday as part of a campus interface with the corporate world.

Interacting with the students of the Department of Commerce of the college, Ms Chitra V. Menon, assistant manager, Geojit Financial Services Ltd., emphasised the need to invest in the capital market in a wise and productive way.

More avenues

As commerce students, she told them that they should apply their minds to find out more investment avenues.

Savings, she said, should be channellised to appropriate avenues and good investments would grow at a rate faster than inflation. Ms Menon reminded the students to follow the golden words adopted in the share business: “Invest early, invest regularly and invest long term” before entering the world of shares.

Earlier, K.P. Narayanan, assistant regional general manager of The Hindu, Kochi, welcomed the gathering.
