Bobby’s effort in vain

KOCHI: Bobby George’s all-round performance (51 and three for 26) went in vain as Chittoor CC defeated Idukki District Cricket Association by four wickets and entered the second round of the 58th Pooja all-India cricket tournament (first phase) at the Tripunithura Palace Oval on Friday.

The scores: Idukki DCA 173 in 42.3 overs (Bobby George 51, Manu Dev 44, Unnikrishnan four for 29) lost to Chittoor CC, Ekm 176 for six in 36 overs (Krishna Das 73, Irfan 46 n.o., Bobby George three for 26). — Principal Correspondent
