500 special buses

Special Correspondent

CHENNAI: The State Transport Corporations will operate 3,000 buses, including 500 additional buses, from Chennai to various destinations in the State to clear the Deepavali rush. The total number of buses is 150 more than last year.

According to the State Express Transport Corporation (Tamil Nadu Divisions I and II), special buses will be operated from October 24 to 28. Online reservation is available, and passengers can book tickets for return journey, too.

To avoid congestion at the Central Mofusil Bus Terminus at Koyembedu, the corporations will operate a majority of special buses from a playground opposite the terminus. They will take the Poonamallee-Irumbuliyur over-bridge to avoid congestion at Tambaram.
