“All must get access to higher education”

VELLORE: “Building world-class infrastructure alone is not sufficient, but we have to find solutions to our problems,” said Jayanthi Natarajan, MP and former Union Minister here on Wednesday.
Releasing the English version of the book and compact disc (CD) containing the biography of VIT Chancellor G. Viswanathan at a function got up on the VIT campus, Ms. Natarajan said that Vellore could boast of the Christian Medical College Hospital, which is attracting patients from different parts of the country in view of its world-class health infrastructure, and the VIT University, which attracted students from different parts of the country owing to the excellent infrastructure and quality education it provided to the engineering students.
Delivering his acceptance speech, Mr. Viswanathan stressed the need for providing education to all. V. Shanmugasundaram, former Vice-Chancellor of Manonmaniam Sundaranar University received the first copies of the English book and CD on the biography. Thol Thirumavalavan, president, Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi, released the Tamil version of the book and CD. Kalaipuli S. Thanu, film producer received the first copies. R. Eswaramoorthy, student of VIT and author of the book and CD, and P. Deepan, co-author, spoke. Pro-Chancellors Sekar Viswanathan and G.V. Selvam and Vice-Chancellor D.P. Kothari participated.
