ANU to formulate code for its employees

Special Correspondent

GUNTUR: The Acharya Nagarjuna University, which has been rocked by allegations of corruption in the marks scam in Undergraduate Examinations section, has revived the efforts to design a code of conduct for its own employees by framing the rules and regulations for all staff in academics, administration, hostels, sports, examinations, NSS, MoUs, Centre for Distance Education.

A Code Committee headed by University Rector K. Viyyanna Rao met here on Thursday to finalise the rules and regulations so that a book could be published. Vice-Chancellor Y.R. Haragopal Reddy said that the book would be published before December 31. Similar attempts were made four or five times in the past, but the reference book never saw the light of the day. With several anonymous letters arriving at the Vice-Chancellor’s office regarding corrupt practices on the campus, it had become essential for the authorities to make people responsible by making them accountable for all their actions. Competition on The Gandhi Atma Katha (Auto-biography of Mahatma Gandhi) will be organised by the Centre for Gandhian Studies and Gandhi Smaraka Samithi on October 19 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. on ANU Campus College, Krishna University College, Machilipatnam, Sarma College, Ongole, Hindu College, Guntur, SSN College Narsaraopet, and Maris Stella College, Vijayawada.
