Family card verification campaign launched
Staff Reporter
NAMAKKAL: Namakkal district administration has launched a door-to-door exercise to verify family cards on Wednesday.
Collector U. Sagayam, launching the exercise, said that over 1000 workers would be involved to carry out the verification.
The administration deputed 78 officials to co-ordinate and supervise the workers for the effective implementation of the work.
The Collector directed the workers to ensure 100 per cent accuracy in the verification exercise.
Stern action would be initiated against those who were found responsible for irregularities.
The administration was determined to detect bogus family cards and eliminate them.
Mr. Sagayam also asked the people to co-operate with the workers and provide genuine information.
The exercise would be carried out for a period of one month.
There should not be any delay in the completion of the exercise, he stressed.
Later, the Collector visited a few houses and collected details of the families.
District Supply Officer Ravindran and senior officials were present.
