VIJAYAWADA: V.R. Siddhartha Engineering College defeated Kaikaluru’s YVNR Government Degree College by 18 runs to enter the semifinals of the Acharya Nagarjuna University (East Zone) cricket tournament here on Thursday. Vaddeswaram’s Koneru Lakshmaiah College of Engineering beat Avanigadda’s Government Degree College at Machilipatnam while AG & SG Siddhartha Degree College defeated SCS Kalasala of Gudlavalleru at Vuyuuru to enter the semifinals. The scores: VRSE College 138 in 26.2 overs (Jyothi Sai Krishna 67, Ram Babu four for 18) bt YVNR Govt. Degree College 120 in 26 overs (Varma 55, Bhavani Sankar three for 17). TT selection trialsKrishna District Table Tennis Association will conduct trials to select the cadet, sub-junior, junior, youth and senior teams on October 19 at the IGMC Stadium. The selected teams will take part in the senior inter-district championship to be held at Anantapur from October 25 to 27. Handball tournamentSathavahana College will host the Acharya Nagarjuna University inter-collegiate handball tournament for men from October 17 to 18.
