Karnataka women win

VIJAYAWADA: Karnataka emerged victorious with 20 points in the South Zone under-19 women’s ODI cricket tournament which concluded at Anantapur on Thursday. Andhra finished second with 17.

All the three final round matches were marred by rain and revised targets were set for the teams batting second.

The scores: Tamil Nadu 93 in 44.5 overs (Thirush Kamini 52, Saba Siddique five for 10) lost to Karnataka 80 for two in 25.5 overs (Vanitha 40).

Goa 115 in 46.4 overs (S. Asha three for 20) bt Kerala 80 in 35 overs (Sneha three for 16).

Hyderabad 185 for eight in 50 overs (Nidhi Tarvi 47) bt Andhra 140 in 34.3 overs (Hima Bindu 41). — Sports Reporter
