Training for investigating officers inaugurated

Special Correspondent

VILLUPURAM: District Collector R.Palanisamy inaugurated the two-day training programme for officials on the rules relating to disciplinary action to be taken against derelict and corrupt employees.

Speaking on the occasion, the Collector observed that the officials appointed to conduct an inquiry into the allegations against any particular official or employee seemed to be not fully conversant with the Tamil Nadu Civil Services (Disciplinary Action and Appeal) Rules.

Because of the lacunae many such cases could not stand the scrutiny of law and hence, the department or the government would have to cut a sorry figure in the courts. Therefore, to avoid such embarrassing situations it had been deemed fit to conduct a training programme on the procedural aspects to be adopted by the officials, he said.

District Revenue Officer C.Kathiravan and other officials participated.
